Community-Led Development
“Starting Primetel wasn’t easy. The biggest challenge I had was internal. I had to remind myself that after 15 plus years of education, I still needed to come back to the very community that nurtured me and contribute meaningfully to it. Changing people’s minds is another challenge we are facing. In the communities we serve, mental health is still something that people don’t talk about. There is shame, fear and misunderstanding. To change this, we went to schools and villages and reached over 35,000 people. We told stories and spoke in ways that connected with respect for the culture. Slowly, people started listening. Looking back, I see these challenges didn’t stop us, they shaped us.”

Youth-driven
Impact
“When I lost my job, I started losing sleep and became overwhelmed with stress, to the point where I felt like I had no value in this world. My family lost trust in me because of how I behaved, anxious and lost in my thoughts. Emmanuel, my neighbor, stepped in to help and introduced me to Primetel. That’s when I began receiving mental health support. I attended sessions for several months and honestly, I’ve seen a real change in my personal development. I regained my hope. My family trusts me again, I’ve returned to my job as a school driver and I’m enjoying life like I used to. I feel like I’ve been given a second chance. I’m truly grateful to Primetel for helping me rebuild my life.”
